Dear License Experts.
I'm Nanimono_Demonai, an administrator of SCP Wiki Japanese Branch.
We received a report that there are potential license violations about SCP-173 in the work of a comic sold in the open market in Japan, on April 1. The reported comic is D-Frag! Vol.11 (ディーふらぐ! 11巻), also known as D-Fragments, the comedic manga series by Tomoya Haruno published by Media Factory (brand company of Kadokawa Corporation) in November 2016.
In a bonus story included in the comic (maybe, the story not to affect a main plot), there is a scene where a character mistook a dead tree for SCP-173, and the tree resembled the figure which watched sculpture "Untitled 2004" of Izumi Kato from the back. Also, note that the tree appears only once and the face of it is not visible.
One of the staff members of Japanese Branch already bought the comic and confirmed the report. He said that he could not find the copyright notice nowhere to be seen (around the page margin or the beginning or end of the book).
The staff does not contact it for a publishing company or an author until now. The Japanese staff can Japanize a message, then if a license team needs to send a message to the person concerned about this matter.
We would appreciate any comments or suggestions from the experts.
Regards,
Nanimono_Demonai.
